Position Summary:

• Teach Music and Music Education courses equivalent to 20 credit hours per year.
• Mentor and advise Music Education students, including coordinating practicum placements.
• Support student involvement in the Music Education organization.
• Maintain an active record of scholarship or creative work consistent with departmental guidelines.
• Engage in professional development to remain current in the field of music education.
• Contribute to departmental service, including student recruitment and advising, admissions events, curricular development, and faculty searches.
• Participate in college-wide service, including required meetings, events, and major service roles.

• Ph.D. in Music Education completed by the time of appointment (advanced ABD candidates will be considered). The successful candidate will have completed a Ph.D. by August 2026.
• Minimum of three years of successful K–12 teaching experience (public or private).
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, student mentoring, and active scholarship.

• Experience in program building and recruitment.
• Versatility in multiple areas of Music Education, including choir, band, and orchestra.

• Associate Professor: $72,000 – $78,000
• Professor: $83,000 – $88,000
