The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) is searching for a Faculty Affairs Specialist.

Reporting to the Operations Manager for the Office of the Dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), this position will support faculty affairs and faculty development processes in partnership with the Faculty Affairs Director, the Associate Dean for Research, the Associate Dean for Natural, Mathematical, and Social Sciences, and the Associate Dean for Arts and Humanities. The position serves as the primary point of contact for faculty awards for CLAS and executes essential processes in the faculty life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate complex schedules for Associate Dean for Natural, Mathematical, and Social Sciences and Associate Dean for Arts and Humanities including confidential meetings requiring discretion and prioritization of appointments. Oversee travel arrangements for Associate Dean for Natural, Mathematical, and Social Sciences and Associate Dean for Arts and Humanities.
• Support Faculty Affairs Director with Promotion and Tenure process, including generating DCG Cover Sheets.
• Serve as primary contact and assist with assuring compliance with policies and procedures for all faculty research-related awards throughout CLAS, including Professional Development Awards, Brodbeck and Van Allen, Flexible Loads, Old Golds, Ida Beam, DSHB, subventions, F&A allocations, and Early Career Scholars Awards.
• Analyze, monitor, and report data needed for all categories of faculty leaves, including leave eligibility and information regarding faculty fellowships or research leaves.
• Evaluate CLAS Conferences support processes and strategically plan process improvements.
• Update CLAS web pages for faculty policies

Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of administrative work experience.
• Extensive knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office support tools available on the desktop (e.g., calendaring, word processing, e-mail, presentation software, and spreadsheets).
• Excellent written and verbal skills, as demonstrated at the working proficiency level.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of and ability to utilize tools, techniques, and processes for gathering and reporting data.
• Must hold excellent project management skills and have the ability to plan out both short term and long term deadlines to meet desired outcome.
• Demonstrates working ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. Demonstrates high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Basic experience with website maintenance.
• Demonstrates ability to evaluate, analyze, and understand broad-scope systems and structures at both a high and detailed level.
• Basic knowledge of University policies and procedures.
