The Psychologist provides psychological services to assist students in attaining their educational, academic, and personal wellness goals. These services include individual counseling; group counseling; crisis intervention; case management; and psycho-educational and outreach programming to students, staff, faculty, administrators, and parents/families. Candidates will also be expected to work closely with the varying level of student trainees in the counseling center. Example of Duties Provides individual, couples, career, and group psychotherapy to students in a brief treatment model. This position will be hired at either a Psychologist or Senior psychologist level depending on the candidatesâ qualifications. In addition to the duties above, the Senior Psychologist must have a Doctorate Degree from an American Psychological Association (APA) or Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) accredited program or certified equivalent in counseling or clinical psychology and 1 year of related experience, which may include a doctoral internship. Licensed as a psychologist. Additional competencies include:  Senior-level position possessing high-level professional and/or technical skills working independently under minimal supervision to support ISUâs mission and department or work unit goals. Applies senior-level professional knowledge and expertise to work requiring greater latitude. Solves moderately complex problems and regularly exercises judgment to determine appropriate action. Regularly exercises judgment to resolve problems and determine appropriate action on a broad set of issue and problems. May provide recommendations regarding problems/issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices. Responds to complicated inquiries, provides training, and provides direction to lower-level staff May provide supervision for one to two other staff (i.e., leads a small work team) May lead projects for which well-defined practices and procedures may not exist.
