The College of Liberal Arts and Business at Aurora University seeks to hire a highly-skilled colleague with expertise in graphic design for a one-year (term) appointment as a full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer for the 2022-2023 academic year, with the potential for renewal. The anticipated start date is August 2022.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• An MFA or equivalent degree in graphic design, visual communication, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated success teaching at the college/university level.
• Substantive, relevant professional experience.
• Experience/strength in typography and visual communication.
• A professional portfolio (prefer online/digital).

Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal degree
• Knowledge of industry software (i.e., Adobe Creative Suite).
• Familiarity with video creation
• Involvement with graphic design-related professional networks and organizations.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate should be prepared to teach across the graphic design curriculum with primary responsibility in typography, digital design, and visual communication. Applicants should show excellence in teaching and a commitment to mentoring students. In addition to teaching, candidates for this position will engage in other duties of full-time faculty, including service and professional activity.
