Posted: 01-Jul-22 Location: Lincoln, Nebraska Salary: Open Internal Number: 80125 Requisition Number: S_220731 Department: Academic Services & Enrollment Mgmt-7776 Description of Work: The Senior Design specialist uses the tools of design to create effective marketing messages. The Specialist assesses client needs, conceptualizes, designs, and develops communication campaigns and elements. Position communicates with the client, guiding them towards a product that addresses their purpose within the framework of positive design principles and University design standards. The specialist coordinates the production and distribution of print and internet-based communications for Academic Services and Enrollment Management (ASEM). The specialist will work to ensure the quality, accuracy, economy, and timeliness of the design product. The position will exercise creative judgment in formulating innovative solutions for strategic communication, branding, and design to ensure the projects support the mission and goals of the university, and specifically ASEM. Manage multiple priorities and coordinate detailed projects. Determine market relevance of proposed marketing activities, consult with the Director of Enrollment Marketing to develop publication/campaign image, message, purpose, budget, and schedule. Supervises two Graphic Design Specialists, providing design guidance and art direction for all of the ASEM units including the Office of Admissions, New Student Enrollment, Scholarships & Financial Aid, University Registrar, Husker Hub, and the Nebraska College Preparatory Academy. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus three years of professional work experience in publication design and publishing required; equivalent education/experience considered. Expertise using Adobe CS software or equivalent, and knowledge of typography and print communication production essential. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills necessary. Strong Portfolio required. Preferred Qualifications: Four years professional work experience in publication design and publishing preferred. Knowledge of integrated marketing, advertising, marketing trends, photography, photo direction desirable. University design work specifically targeted at prospective students helpful. Posted Salary: $45,000/yr minimum Job Type: Full-Time
