The Manufacturing Engineer Project Manager is responsible for developing relationships with manufacturing leaders, assessing the current state of manufacturing operations, and assisting in developing and implementing detailed plans to provide significant improvements in productivity through process engineering and technology adoption.
The successful candidate will possess demonstrated excellence across a broad set of experiences in the manufacturing industry with a focus on automation. Critical skills include process engineering for continuous and/or discrete manufacturing businesses, relationship building, business and manufacturing acumen, excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; exceptional critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving skills; ability to deal with ambiguity; and strong time management skills. All staff members are expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provide Technical Assistance to Iowa Manufacturers in the Area of Specialty
Provide Expertise and Leadership in the Manufacturing Sector
Lead CIRAS Efforts in Area of Specialty
Level Guidelines â¢ Expert-level position possessing advanced professional and/or technical skills working under limited or no supervision â¢ Applies high-level professional knowledge and expertise to focus on ISUâs mission and meeting division, department or work unit goals â¢ Solves complex issues using highly-developed problem resolution skills â¢ Regularly provides recommendations regarding problems/issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices â¢ Utilizes high-level professional knowledge and expertise to provide guidance, recommendations, and set standards related to strategy, policy, and mission â¢ Leads projects of moderate to high scope and complexity with broad impact â¢ May provide supervision to other department staff (i.e., leads a small work team)
