Facilities Management is seeking two Communications Coordinators to assist the Assistant Director, Strategic Communications, in a comprehensive communications role.
Duties to Include:
Plan and create content for internal audiences, including messaging campaigns for Facilities Management staff, sharing university-wide communications in a Facilities Management context, and optimizing messaging through various internal communication platforms.
Plan and create content for external audiences, including social media planning and management, media releases and communications to the larger University of Iowa community and beyond.
Create surveys and campaigns using data collection tools such as Qualtrics and UI Workflow to identify audience/customer behaviors, attitudes and opinions.
Assist in developing near-term and long-term communications plans for Facilities Management that involve the various communication platforms utilized by FM: Internet, departmental Intranet, social media, email, etc.

About Facilities Management:
Facilities Management (FM) represents five core areas of expertise and service including three operational areas. With approximately 700 employees dedicated to excellence, we serve the University of Iowa through a range of functions including building care and landscaping, facilities information services, construction and project management, utilities, and
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional experience (typically 6 months - 1 year) in a fast-paced, high-volume communications role including strategic messaging, website management, social media planning, writing, and scheduling, and use of multimedia (photo, video, graphics).
Continuous improvement attitude, the ability to research, suggest and implement best practices.
Working experience in writing and creative skills
Working experience with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite (including Final Cut Pro/Premiere and graphic creation and editing tools).
Working experience with Drupal web content management; and website analytics and accessibility tools. Google Analytics and Siteimprove preferred.
Working experience in planning, creating and analyzing web-based surveys. Qualtrics preferred.
Working experience using social media scheduling and management tools.
Basic knowledge working with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Working experience creating communication campaigns through the UI Dispatch web service.
Working experience using Dreamweaver or knowledge of HTML code
Working experience using Facebook Business Suite
Working experience using Canva
Working experience using Skype for Business, Zoom and Remote Desktop
Working experience supervising students and/or volunteers.
