The Law, Politics, and Society Department at Drake University, a comprehensive private university in Des Moines Iowa, is hiring a visiting assistant professor. The term is for one year, renewable for up to three. Teaching load is 3:3. The department seeks a teacher-scholar committed to sociolegal inquiry, interdisciplinarity, and undergraduate education. Discipline and specialization are open; however, we have a particular interest in power and inequality, gender and reproduction, legal mobilization, or the practices of the legal profession. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to the field of Law and Society and will teach upper and lower division electives in their areas of expertise. We are especially interested in candidates who contribute to excellent education for diverse student populations, whose work facilitates to intercultural and global understandings, and who desires to be an active member of a healthy, vibrant department.
