The Department of Political Science at Drake University seeks to recruit an exceptional scholar for a tenured position at the rank of associate professor who can provide effective and visionary leadership as the Chair of the Department of Political Science. We are particularly interested in candidates with research and teaching interests in American public policy. Teaching responsibilities include the introductory American Politics course and upper level courses covering domestic public policy (process and theory), policy analysis, and topics consistent with the individual’s research specialization. Chairs serve three year terms, with the possibility of renewal, and have their teaching load reduced from the standard 3-3 load. A PhD is required. Questions may be directed to the search committee chair Arthur Sanders. If you plan on being at APSA in Washington, please contact the search committee chair ahead of time to arrange an informal conversation about the position.
