Employment Status: Full-time, temporary 'non-exempt' position. Work Schedule:During Summer, Monday - Thursday: 7:00AM to 5:30PM / During Academic Year, Monday - Friday: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (Occasional evenings and weekends)

Typical Activities Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, the incumbent will work closely with the Lead Counselor in the recruitment and admission of new transfer students to CSUSB. Typical responsibilities include, but are limited to:
Incumbent will be responsible for managing community college territories and the recruitment of students to CSUSB. Duties include: workshops and presentations on CSUSB admissions, programs and services, attending college and career fairs, and work collaboratively to communicate, develop and maintain relationships with college counselors to market CSUSB.
Assist and coordinate recruitment events and programs on a day to day basis, and serve as a liaison between CSUSB and off campus constituencies. Represent CSUSB at Community College advisory meetings, annual CSU system-wide Counselor Conferences, and at national college fairs.
Monitor, track, and research the number of prospective leads and applicants collected from each service school. Prepare, analyze and evaluate recruitment goals and initiatives, and program/event activity reports.
Incumbent will meet with students on a regular basis to discuss admissions eligibility issues in relation to impacted major and eligibility guidance, provide pre-admission counseling to prospective students and customer service to students on a continuous basis in person (one on one and in group settings), on the telephone, and electronically. Employee will also enter inquiries of prospective students in Prospect Database.
The staff member will facilitate an understanding of admissions policies and procedures between the applicant, families, education professionals, the campus community and ASR.
Incumbent will be responsible for planning on-campus high profile recruitment of transfer students. These events include but are not limited to Open House, Application Workshops, collaborative programs with Financial Aid and academic advising as appropriate, Coyotes Connect, Counselors' Day, and others.
The incumbent will coordinate with schools and individuals seeking a small group tours to provide services as requested.
The incumbent will work on programs to be offered in the community colleges as well as those on campus. These will be done in partnership with the Colleges and to meet the need of transferring students. This can include Next Step and Transition support programs, recruitment programs and should include CSUSB services and departments that support the transition of students to the campus.
Will perform other duties as assigned.

Working knowledge of the practices, procedures and activities of the program to which assigned; general knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational and program management. General knowledge of research and interview techniques; and of the principles of individual and group behavior.
Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations; use initiative and resourcefulness in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements; obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews; reason logically; collect, compile, analyze and evaluate data and make verbal or written presentations based on these data; advise students individually and in groups on routine matters where required; recognize multicultural, multisexed and multi-aged value systems and work accordingly; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, CSU administrators, student organizations, private and public agencies and others in committee work, and student advising and community contacts; and rapidly acquire a general knowledge of the overall operation, functions and programs of the campus to which assigned. Demonstrated ability to make decisions and carry through actions having implications with regard to other program or service areas Services Office.
Possession of these knowledge and abilities typically is demonstrated through the Experience requirements below. Education and Experience
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences or a job related field.
Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
The person holding this position is considered a `mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
