Overview Assistant Coach Women's Track and Field. Under the general supervision and direction of the head coach, the Assistant Coach will assist with all aspects of a NCAA Division II women's track and field programs including but not limited to: coaching, recruiting, maintenance of a strong academic environment, compliance with NCAA, conference and institutional regulations. The university seeks an individual who has demonstrated success in attracting campus and community support.
Event-Specific Coaching Positions Available
Throws - Experience in the Hammer, Shot Put, Discus and/or Javelin
Horizontal Jumps - Experience in the Long Jump and/or Triple Jump
Vertical Jumps - Experience in the Pole Vault and/or High Jump
Hurdles - Experience in the 100-meter and 400-meter Hurdles

Typical Activities The Assistant Coach will be responsible for retention of students by assisting with the management of the student-athletes' academic success, wellness and experience. Other duties will include: coordinating daily training programs and maintaining a safe practice environment for the student-athletes. Obligations include recruiting quality prospective student-athletes, scheduling and hosting campus visits, recruiting at offsite competitions, student-athlete development and assisting the Head Coach with competition schedules, travel, meet management, community service and fundraising for the track and field program. California State University San Bernardino is a NCAA Division II member, competing in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The CCAA has been one of the nation's most successful intercollegiate athletic conferences since its establishment in 1938. CCAA members have won 153 NCAA Championships (102 men, 51 women) which is the most of any Division II conference.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree is required. Experience with collegiate athletics preferred.
