The Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy (School) at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track position in financial auditing beginning Fall 2020. This position is contingent upon state funding. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. or DBA in accounting or business administration before August 2020. Relevant professional certification is desirable.
Applicants should possess strong research interest and capability as evidenced by an appropriate history of, or potential for, professional growth activity. This will include regular publication in quality, refereed journals and professional conference participation as well as demonstration of an innovative and active research agenda. Candidates must engage in teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in the areas of financial auditing or accounting. In addition, candidates will also be expected to demonstrate an ability to interact effectively with members of the business and research community.
The SDSU Fowler College of Business is among the nation’s oldest and largest AACSB accredited business schools. Its accomplished faculty and highly ranked academic programs provide an exceptional foundation for an institution with significant regional, national and international impact. The Fowler College of Business enrolls approximately 5,500 undergraduate and about 500 graduate students.
The Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy is AACSB Accounting accredited with approximately 1,000 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students. The School’s academic programs are a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) – Accounting Major, Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA), and a combined 4+1 degree program (BMACC). The School’s faculty includes 13 tenure-track faculty as well as several full- and part-time lecturers. Support for research includes access to databases (e.g., WRDS), funding for approved projects through grant programs, graduate student assistants, and a research budget for conference travel and items/data supporting research.
