Academic/Faculty, Medical - Clinical, Pharmaceutical Sciences
The School of Pharmacy is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time, 12-month, non tenure-track Assistant Professorposition in the Division of Pharmacy Practice with an expertise in community pharmacy practice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in innovative didactic and clinical teaching, developing an enhanced service model within the community pharmacy setting, practice-based research with a focus on community practice, and service.
School of Pharmacy:
Duquesne University’s School of Pharmacy opened in 1925 with an enrollment of just 50 students in a few rooms of Canevin Hall. Today, the School of Pharmacy enrolls more than 1,000 students in its six-year Pharm.D. program, nearly 130 in its weekend program, 10 post-Pharm.D. fellows and residents, and 65 M.S. and Ph.D. students. Nearly 100 percent of Duquesne student pharmacists have gained immediate placement in employment and advanced studies for more than two decades and have been given preferred status by pharmacy employers.
The School ranks 48th among all American pharmacy schools in the 2012 U.S. News and World Report “Best Graduate Programs” listing, and its faculty ranks third in the nation among private pharmacy schools for securing research funding from the National Institutes of Health. The School has been nationally recognized for providing continuing professional education to FDA personnel, pharmaceutical companies, and dentists and dental assistants.
The successful candidate should possess a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an ACPE-Accredited School of Pharmacy and a PGY1 accredited residency program with a community focus, or equivalent experience, is expected .
Applicant must be currently licensed or eligible for licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy to practice pharmacy and administer injectables.
Board certification is preferred.
