Coe College seeks qualified applicants for the position of Associate Director of Financial Aid.
The Associate Director provides support to the Director of Financial Aid in the management of all financial aid programs to ensure compliance with regulations as well as to meet the needs of the students and administration at Coe College.The Associate Director is the primary technology manager for the office and is responsible for the management of student data, implementing computerized office procedures, interfacing software with federal and state agencies as well as other departments. The Associate Director also provides a full range of financial aid counseling to prospective and current students and families.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Creating budget forecasts and statistical models for the development of long range and annual budgeting.
Maintains a variety of institutional statistics.
Completes compliance reports including IPEDS, State of Iowa, and the NCAA.
Completes other statistical surveys such as Common Data Set, US News and World Report and other publications as requested.
Provides statistical data to other offices on campus including Admission and Advancement in support of their initiatives.
Submission and preparation of the annual Federal Fiscal Operations Report and Application for Funds and the renewal and/or update of the Federal Application to Participate in Federal Student Aid programs.
Completes verification of financial aid files according to federal regulations
Awards new and returning students financial aid. Determines need eligibility and funding available for student awards.
Represents Coe College at local, state, regional, and national financial aid meetings and stays current on federal and state regulations that impact the awarding and disbursing of student financial aid.
Maintains with assistance from the college webmaster the Consumer Information page. Updates campus partners about requirements and updates.
Meets with students and parents to offer financial aid information and advice as necessary.
Meets with prospective students and parents to support the enrollment efforts of the college.
Assist the Admission Department with interviews and events. Including Campus Visit Days and Scholarship Competitions.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in Student Development or Higher Education Administration preferred.
Two-three years of financial aid experience including experience with awarding financial aid.
Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Knowledgeable in federal and state financial aid regulations.
Proficient in full suite of Microsoft Office products.
Previous experience with financial aid software Powerfaids and campus administrative software Jenzabar EX preferred.
