This position will serve as a member of senior management in order to participate in the development of goals, objectives,policies and procedures for the Office of Admissions, as well as assist in the short and long term financial, personnel, and procedural planning for the office. This will involve the planning,directing and management of all financial activities for the office, for the purpose of providing support for budget development and the preparation of various financial reports to assist in developing fiscal and administrative goals; researching and compiling information on return on investment analysis for recruitment and marketing activities, as well as information on cost, policies, procedures and related operational needs in order to assist with projects and prepare reports and proposals for financial and personnel objectives; the management authorization of expenditures (travel, p-card purchases, etc.), all personnel transactions(hiring, termination, reclassifications, etc.); serving as the unit liaison with various MSU entities including, MSU Human Resources, Purchasing, and Infrastructure, Planning and Facilities and external vendors; and the coordination of maintenance and renovation of physical facilities to make recommendations regarding priorities for space; supervising the issuance of keys and the maintenance of all records to ensure unit compliance with university, state and federal regulations.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Accounting, Management or field related to employing unit; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in financial or accounting practices, developing research projects, funding and grant practices and/or experience in a field related to the area of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expertise in all facets of MSU Enterprise Business Systems, including Kuali Financial, Business Intelligence, QueryStudio, Planning and Budgets, Page Up applicant tracking system, and SAP Human Resources System; deep understanding of MSU Business Procedures and accounting practices; in-depth knowledge of MSU Human Resources procedures, including strong understanding of contracts for APSA, APA and CT employees.
